Trainings
All of us deal with conflicts in our lives, but few of us take the time to really think about the best ways to deal with them or resolve them early on before they become a problem. Left unaddressed, conflicts usually fester and grow over time, but without the proper skills and techniques in place, attempts to engage and resolve them can backfire and make a bad situation worse.
Come to an HDR training (or hire HDR to hold a training for your group or organization), and learn skills and techniques you can use to minimize the harmful effects of many conflicts and turn them into positive catalysts for change.
Available Trainings:
Conflict Styles: This 3 hour workshop uses the Kraybill Conflict Styles Inventory as a basis for exploring how we all approach conflict differently. Participants will learn what "conflict style" they tend to use, both when the conflict is low-level and when it becomes severe, and how to identify and work with people who use different styles.
Important Conversations - End of Life Issues: This 1 hour workshop focuses on how to use "advance directives" (living wills and health care powers of attorney) as a planning tool and how to have productive conversations with your family about your wishes surrounding end of life care. Most people don't like to contemplate their own mortality, but by planning now, you can prevent a great deal of future conflict and stress for both yourself and your family when and if you have a health crisis.
Please contact me for dates about upcoming trainings, or to schedule a training for your group or organization. Costs for trainings vary depending on the seminar and the context in which the training occurs, but are designed to be affordable for all. Scholarships are available for all trainings offered through the Georgia Conflict Center.
